In the finale to a five and a half hour meeting of the Board of Supervisors on Monday, Chairman E.P. Luke announced his resignation, effective June 30. The Piedmont District representative’s announcement came at the close of a two hour executive session on “personnel, contracts and litigation.” Col. Luke said his resignation was for personal reasons “partly for health and partly because it’s gotten to be too much of a hassle.”
Refreshments prepared by the County’s Extension Homemakers Clubs highlighted the reception following baccalaureate service at Rappahannock County High School on Sunday evening. Cakes, cookies and punch were served by Flo Duvall, Sandra Jenkins, Alice Pullen, Chris Eidson, Hazel Pullen and Sally Thornhill.
