Admissions
• The month of May was filled with excitement at WCDS, as students received test scores back from the national tests that were taken during the spring.
• The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth Talent Search 2001: Seventh and eighth grades testing results came in, and three students from WCDS placed with honors.
Katie Guiffre, an eighth grader, received an Honor of Distinction in verbal testing, Nicole Fegeas, a seventh grader, received an Honor of Distinction in Math, and Lauren Guiffre, also a seventh grader, received an Honor of Distinction in Verbal.
The fifth and sixth grades tests results also included students at WCDS. Two students receiving honors, Alex Shafran and Matthew Wingfield, won invitations to the State Celebration of Talent, as a result of the test scores. Both students are fifth graders at WCDS.
• Local students ranked nationally in Le Grand Concours (National French Contest): Three students at Wakefield Country Day School ranked nationally in the 66th annual French exam. The students, Michelle Fegeas, Taylor Hammelman, and Ben Luke, were evaluated for their written, oral and listening comprehensive skills in French. Over 93,200 students in all 50 states competed in the 2001 event. The three WCDS students are students of Mrs. Rachel
