The Salem Volunteer Fire and Rescue was the setting for a car and truck show Saturday afternoon, May 26. Trophies, fireman’s choice, best in show, club participation made up the events. The show closed at 1 p.m. because of the rain.
The annual agriculture survey for the statistics of the state of Virginia will begin in June and the participation of local farmers is important as well as throughout the state.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cave of Route 707, attended a surprise party at the Sperryville Fire Hall on Saturday afternoon, May 26 honoring Mrs. Thelma Jenkins on her 65th birthday. A large group was in attendance and Mrs. Jenkins received many gifts and birthday wishes.
