Soccer
Rappahannock County High School Boys Soccer team was slated to host the series of games that are played to determine the Region B soccer champions. The school hosted team after team under the superb efforts of the Rappahannock Soccer League leaders, Tom Pendleton and Katherine Treanor. Their assistance along with Assistant Principal, Mike Tupper set the stage for a first class week of championship soccer at Rappahannock that we can all be proud of.
All of this effort however, culminated with the elimination of the Rapp Boys soccer team from regional play. The Madison Mountaineers handed the Rapp Boys Soccer team a disappointing loss of 4-3 in double overtime for the Region B semifinal game. The Panthers struggled with the Mountaineers earlier in the season beating them once and losing to them once. Then the two teams met again for the Bull Run District Tbumament Championship and Rappahannock soundly defeated them 6-0.
Following Thursday’s loss Coach Carl Gray told the dejected team, “Let’s hope that Madison brings back the state championship for the Bull Run
