5 cups sugar
Wash and cap berries; cook fruit without sugar for three minutes; add three cups sugar and cook for three minutes; add two cups more sugar and cook three minutes longer. Pour into an earthen crock. Let stand for three days stirring occasionally. Put into jars and seal cold. (Cook means a full rolling boil - one that cannot be stirred down).

David Dwyer, Ruby Dwyer, and Sally Keyser of Sperryville and Anne Dwyer and Rebecca Shade of Culpeper had lunch at the Hong Kong Restaurant in Culpeper in celebration pf Rebecca’s birthday.
The Wharton reunion was held last Sunday at the Castleton Fire Hall. Everyone missed having Mrs. Addie Wharton Keyser there as she is the oldest surviving member of the family.
