Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, on School House Road in Washington, Va., a new winery opens its doors, carrying on a tradition that has been the heritage of the Gadino family.
However, this will be the first commercial endeavor by the family, who has grown grapes and made wine for several generations.
“It is part of our heritage and we are so proud of that,” Aleta Gadino, one of the founders of Gadino Cellars said, adding that they will be decorating a wall in the tasting room as a memorial to their Italian heritage — one where both she and her husband, Bill's grandfathers were amateur wine makers.
“The love of a glass of wine with good food and family was instilled in both of us at an early age,” Bill Gadino added.
