provide the support these folks need to help us when we most need their help.
Whether it is baking a cake, helping at the carnival, buying raffle tickets or just digging a little deeper when asked, if we do our part, we may be able to continue to be the beneficiaries of the talents and gifts of those very special people who are the volunteers who staff our fire and rescue organizations.
When I first started writing this column, and wondering what I could possibly write about that people would want to read, the first thing my bride suggested was that somehow I use this venue to recognize and thank those individuals.
I hope these few words can be a start in that direction.
