ship of founder and music director Paul Gambill and executive director Connie Linsler Valentine, the extraordinary music making of this ensemble has garnered a steady stream of national media attention, numerous recordings, and a national award for Adventurous Programming from ASCAP. The NCO’s exceptional reputation has also led to invitations to perform with Amy Grant & Vince Gill’s “Simply Christmas” tours, as well as at the 2004 International Flute Convention. And, in June 2004, to stretch all musical boundaries, the NCO made its debut with Phish’s Trey Anastasio performing for over 90,000 fans at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN.
The NCO is funded in part from grants made available through Metro Nashville Arts Commission, the Tennessee Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
