Combine the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat the mixture for about 3 minutes. Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Intermittently add water. Continue mixing until everything is combined, but remember do not continue mixing after the ingredients are blended.
