Kid Pan Alley

The national Kid Pan Alley program was founded by songwriter/ performer / educator Paul Reisler of Trapezoid. A project of Ki Theatre, it grew out of a school residency project in rural Rappahannock County, VA where Reisler worked with local kids co-writing in the classroom. The 50-plus songs were funny, touching, goofy, gross and so enchanting that Reisler asked a number of the county's musicians—many of them nationally and internationally known—to each choose and record a song in their own style. The recording, Tidal Wave of Song, is an example of how power of song can inspire the true spirit of community. Now, Kid Pan Alley is spreading to communities throughout the country, with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra the first to partner with Kid Pan Alley for an ongoing series, the first of which culminating with the Kid Pan Alley-Nashville recording.
