“Contractors will be able to see it being installed,” emphasized district manager, Greg Wichelns, who will provide coordination of grant activities and quarterly reporting.

“This is a real feather in Rappahannock's cap,” said Wichelns. “They submitted a proposal and got this grant, they’re taking the lead,” remarked Wichelns who said that Lantz Construction, the contractor for work being done at the Rappahannock County Elementary School will be not only utilizing this system but enabling the project to instruct the community about conservation, stream protection and nonpoint source pollution.

Those interested can meet at the Washington Fire Hall at 8 a.m. on July 6. After a brief presentation there, the group will move to the elementary school for an onsite demonstration.

Board Meeting

The Board of Directors of Piedmont United Way will hold its annual business meeting on Tuesday, July 26 at 5:00 p.m. at the Piedmont United Way office at 118 East Piedmont Street.

Piedmont United Way (PUW) is the local United Way serving the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock; raising money to hind 38 programs that provide services in the five county region.

According to Warren McKeen, Executive Director of Piedmont United Way, “this is a working Board session, there will be a business portion to the agenda and an executive portion to the agenda, the public is invited to attend the business portion of the meeting, but due to limited space we ask for an RSVP
