small companies to co-sponsor events, and worked closely with the media in the past, the RNPC tells us.
Chisholm brings both experience and enthusiasm to her new role: “I was commuting 3 hours a day (even in my car pool!) to my job at 12th and New York and I knew I could not sustain that for much longer. I loved working for The Joint Oceanographic Institutions, they were a fabulous group of scientists doing excellent and important research, but my quality of life was suffering. I feel so fortunate to have been chosen as The Executive Director for The Rappahannock Non-Profit Center. I can not wait to be of service to the community." Chisholm goes on to tell us: "We are planning an event for early fall and hope to see all the non profits in the area attend. Local residents, businesses and non profits in other counties are also welcome
Our goal at RNPC is to serve the needs of the community, to be a resource, a shoulder to lean on. We envision an office with printed resource materials, a pool of professionals that a non-profit can go to for consultation at no fee or a reduced fee, helping volunteers find a non-profit to serve, media relations assistance, fundraising assistance, things of that nature. ... We hope to fill any voids that may exist in the community."
