Complicating the debate, Peter Luke, attorney for the County, recused himself at the last meeting because of personal ties to the AFFRC, and the BZA voted to solicit a legal analysis from local attorney Douglas Baumgardner. Baumgardner has researched the matter and provided the BZA with a summary of the law and his professional conclusion on how it applies here. Thatanalysis was made public at the meeting Wednesday. It turns out the law is both very complicated and difficult to clearly apply in this case.
