Chappell listed monies that could come from the Amr Spieker Fund, from the County coffers (maybe) and from the refinancing arrangements by the Virginia Public School Authority — which has saved substantial interest monies.
Members of the Board, on the Superintendent’s recommendation, decided to take an in-person look at construction projects that are in the works, as well as various school programs. They will do this is at a moveable Board meeting that will take up the morning of Tuesday, April 25.

High school graduation is just under two months away. Chappell reminded the board that while the ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 10, there are several school athletic teams involved in state championship playoffs. Success by any one of them that leads to a final contest on the same day would mean postponing graduation one day — to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11
To avoid this collision of interests in 2007, Chappell wants to set graduation back a full week next year, to the 16th of the month.
