Historical Society would like to acknowledge the many contributions of Charles K. ‘Pete’ Estes to the preservation of the history of Rappahannock County. Mr. Estes was always enthusiastic about our local history and was a charter member of the Historical Society. He served on the Board of Directors of the Society even though his health made it almost impossible for him to attend the meetings. ' He was a true son of Rappahannock. Bom, raised and educated here there were few people Pete did not know and those he didn’t know he made a point of getting to know. He always took time to speak to everyone and most important he listened. He listened to the stories and tales the old timers told of by gone days. If a story piqued his interest he would take the
