Linda and I have a couple of bluebirds checking out the bluebird house, but nothing but sparrows and starlings at our newly renovated purple martin facility.
Fortunately, with the new template Jim loaned us for the correct purple martin sized opening, all the starlings have been able to do is stomp around and complain that they can’t get in. Life deals you a few setbacks from time to time, and so it is for the starlings. Robert Clatterbuck
It has been several weeks since I wrote anything for the column.
Still, I would be remiss if I did not point out that, a few weeks ago, Flint Hill lost another good, solid citizen, when Robert Clatterbuck passed away.
For as long as I can remember, Robert was a good man to know, and the right fellow to call when you had a plumbing or heating problem.
And, the truth is, with most of the country folk, when something broke at the house, you fixed it yourself, or at least you took a shot at it.
Thank goodness we had Robert Clatterbuck for those times when we were smart enough to know we couldn’t fix it, and especially for those times when we weren’t that smart, and the little plumbing job we were going to do got out of hand, and we wound up with water or worse all over everything.
He was always there, and he fixed what needed to be fixed.
Robert Clatterbuck will be greatly missed by this community. Our belated condolences to his family.
