Have you ever wondered what would happen if a sudden illness or accident left you in a permanent vegetative state? Who would you want to make important medical decisions on your behalf? Would you want to receive every possible treatment your caregiver could provide? Would you want your loved ones to agonize over making the right decisions? To help raise public awareness about the need to plan ahead for health care decisions, the Virginia State Bar has created Virginia Advance Directives Day. As a participant in this event, Fauquier Hospital will sponsor an educational community program about advance directives. You're invited to come and ask questions as you learn about advance directives, living wills, health care powers of attorney, appointing agents, and “do not resuscitate" orders. Listen to our guest speakers as they talk about advance directives from their own perspectives. And we'll also provide FREE educational materials, forms, and expert guidance, so you can take advantage of this opportunity to execute your own directive.
