The problems of drunk driving and underage drinking aren’t limited by race, age, or gender, nor are their victims. The “motto” listed at the top of their website (www.maddorg) simply states, “We’re dads and daughters, sons and uncles, friends arid neighbors. And mothers. We’re all ages from all walks of life. We are many colors with one voice.” In July 2005 Glynn Birch’s election as the National President of MADD made him the first male and minority president in the organization’s history. He’s been volunteering his time and talents to MADD for more than 15 years following the death of his 21 month old son to a drunk driver.
Millie Jenkins, (540) 6368295 a DUI survivor and member of Loudoun County MADD, and Diane Fisher (540) 636-6385) are forming a Shendanoah Chapter of MADD. We are looking for volunteers from Warren, Frederick, Clarke, Shendandoah, Page, and Rappahannock counties to serve on this pioneer committee.
