New bridge

The old wooden bridge over Hickman’s Run one mile east of Flint Hill on Route 647 (Crest Hill Road) was removed last week by VDOT and a new concrete bridge was built in its place—in only three days. Hundreds of vehicles that make this daily trek had to detour around Grimsley Road or North Poes Road to get to their destination. The new bridge is not only more sturdy but it will withstand occasional flooding better than the old wooden bridge. It has far superior steel railings on each side as well.
