August 16-19: Flint Hill Carnival

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company’s carnival will be Wednesday-Saturday, August 16-19. A long list of exciting activities is planned, highlighted by the parade on Friday evening, August 18, Come and enjoy bingo, the celebrity dunk tank, rides, chicken dinners, and much, much more. The crowning of Queens and Little Misters will take place on at 10 p.m. on Saturday. The carnival concludes with the truck raffle at midnight on Saturday. The heifer raffle will take place at 11 p.m. If you don’t have your raffle tickets yet they are readily available around the community or you may call the station at 6753286. Hope to see you all there!

8/18 — Noon to 5 p.m. Wal-Mart, Culpeper

8/23 — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Culpeper Regional Hospital

8/30 — Noon to 5 p.m. Cintas, Culpeper

Your blood saves lives! Please mark your calendar and plan to donate. Remember to drink lots of fluids — water or juice are best — the day before, and the day of, the blood drive. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and fatty foods. To give blood, you must be generally healthy, 17 years of age or more, and weigh at least 110 pounds.

RED CROSS CLASSES:

CPR and First Aid - August 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. ; August 19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Babysitter’s Training - August 3 and 4 (2 day class), 1 to 5 p.m. Tuition $35. Preregistration is required. For further information call the Red Cross at 825-8611.
