Jenkins’ diving stop from his second base spot turned into a force play that ended the rally.
“We made the plays and put the ball in ball when we were hitting,” Jeff Jenkins said.
Rappahannock also got a solid pitching outing from Czekaj, who tossed a complete game four-hitter. He walked just three and fanned five for his third win. Czekaj also had a pair of hits and two stolen bases.
Rappahannock scored once in the first inning, as Ethan Russell singled, moved to second when Adam Gessner walked and came home on Jenkins’ single.
The Rams evened the score in the second. But Rappahannock got three runs in the sixth. L.B. Settle walked. Jonathan Butler was hit by a pitch. The runners advanced on Czekaj’s bunt. Russell was intentionally walked. Then, with two strikes on him, Miller went with the pitch and tripled down the right field line to clear the bases.
“They had played him to pull in the third, and Will doubled,” Jenkins said. “They played him to pull this time, and he went with the pitch.”

Gessner tossed a no-hitter and struck out nine in leading Rappahannock to an 11-1 win over Clarke County. The game was shortened to six innings because of the 10-run, mercy rule.
