May 25: Women’s Health Fair

Women’s Health Fair will be held on Friday May 25 at the Madison County Health Department from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. The health fair is free and open to everyone. Information will be available on many women’s health issues including breast and reproductive health, nutrition, skin cancer, parenting and women’s health tests. A nurse will also be available to check blood pressure and answer questions. A two-month free membership to Curves and a free mammogram will be given away. Refreshments will be provided. Fire Chief Pageant registration

Chester Gap Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is holding registration for the Chester Gap Honorary Pageant 2007 to be held Saturday, May 26. Applicants should reside in Rappahannock or Warren County. Registration is $25, $5 per picture for photogenic. Must have photo at time of registration. Dates for registration are Tuesday, April 17, Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20 at the Chester Gap Fire Hall from 5-9 p.m. each night. Applicants for each group are as follows: Baby Miss, Wee Miss, Tiny Miss, Little Miss, Baby Mr., Tiny Mr., Mr. Future Fire Chief, Pre-Teen, Jr. Miss, Miss & Ms. Registration forms can be picked up at the Chester Gap Grocery Store. Dance by Smokin’ Trout

Caller DeLaura Padovan will lead an evening of squares and contras at the old gym at Madison County High School at 7 a. m. to 11 p. m„ Saturday, May 26. Music will be by Smokin’ Trout, featuring local musicians on fiddle, guitar, pennywhistle, hammer dulcimer and old-time banjo.
