rloyd testified that 89 plants were found in the plots and that Malik had also showed him two large paper bags of leaf material that were stored in the attic.
State Trooper Christopher Roop testified about the evidence recovery process, noting that the plants were “well attended” and ranged from 3-6 feet tall.
A half smoked rolled marijuana cigarette was also found in the house together with rolling papers.
Floyd said that Malik admitted to growing the marijuana, using it for “medical reasons.” Malik stated that his wife Laurie Malik was glucose intolerant and had high blood pressure; he on the other hand used it for “psychological reasons.” Malik also stated to Floyd that Laurie was not involved with the cultivation process.
Special Agent Frank Herman gave testimony about the use of the quantity of plants found at the Malik home. Herman stated that each plant can produce 1-2 lbs. per plant. Herman said that a marijuana cigarette commonly contains about a gram of leaf material. He roughly estimated that the
