Each Friday through May 18, at 7 p.m., the Gastleton Community Volunteer Fire Department located at 593 Castleton View Road, will be having their shooting matches. 12-gauge shotguns, no scopes or sleeves. Neat prizes. For more information, phone Joe Peregory at 540-9376163.
May 18-19: Sperryville Volunteer
Fire Department Carnival
From May 16-19 the Sperryvifie Volunteer Fire Department will have their carnival. Each night offers something slightly different for your enjoyment. On Wednesday, May 16, is Kid’s night, for a fixed rate, children can ride all night. On Thursday, May 17, you can enjoy live music by the Adorations, while you eat (firmer by the famous Fire Department Auxiliary chicken Box Supper with potato salad, baked beans and a roll. Friday, May 18, you can enjoy the annual parade that begins at 7 p.m. on Route 522 near the Sperryville Cemetery, continues along Main Street and proceeds to the Fire Hall on U.S. 211. The final night Saturday, May 19, the Queen wifi be crowned and the grand prize drawings will be announced. Be sure to buy lots of tickets because the grand prize is $1000, second place is $500 and third place is $250. Most of al your attendance at the carnival is testimony to your support for al those who volunteer their time and energy all year long to provide high quality services to the community. So put these four nights on your calendar now and show your support for the men and women who protect us 365 days and nights a year.
