This weekend wear your seatbelt. Beginning on May 25, the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a multi-jurisdictional enforcement project, targeting the Route 211 corridor from Timberville to Warrenton.
This is part of the RCSO’s effort to join Virginia law enforcement officials take part in national “Click It or Ticket” mobilization during the month of May.
“Click It or Ticket” is a program that is focused on ino-easing seat belt and child safety seat use. This in turn reduces injury and fatality.
Law Enforcement agencies from around Virginia will participate in high visibility patrols from now through the Memorial Day holiday.
Virginia law states that law enforcement can cite anyone driving a vehicle in which an occupant under the age of 16 is not wearing a seat belt or is not properly secured in a child safety seat.
