Rappahannock’s varsity boy’s soccer team shut out Madison County last night finishing second in the Bull Run District.
The Panthers fought hard keeping the ball in Madison’s end of the field for most of the first half making 11 shots on goal. With about 20 minutes left in the first half a hard drive forward gave Rappahannock a comer kick. The shot resulted in a hand ball for Madison, as Alex Ramey shot the penalty kick into the right corner of the net. Five minutes later Ramey scored again with assistance from Zack Wayland. With the ball hovering around the goal cage, the Mountaineers played a tight defense as Dugal Day make a few valiant attempts.
