It’s been five, ten, 20 years or more since you left Rappahannock County High School. Did you ever wonder where the basketball players are? And how about the girl who always did so well in algebra class? And the guys who “got lost” on the trip to New York? Some of them, of course, are right here in the county, running for sheriff in charge of the bank, dropping children off at soccer practice, and running county offices. Some you see on the roads, coming and going, but where are all the others? How are they doing?

As Rappahannock County High School’s 50th anniversary approaches (the cornerstone at the High School says 1958!), a big effort is underway to organize a complete list of attendees to the school, and perhaps to pave the way for gatherings, parties, reminiscing, and, at least, picture and address trading

This year, at the Homecoming game on October 6, when Rapp plays Chlncoteague, the alumni will have a tent where graduates from all the decades from the 1950s to the 2000s will be ready to share the information already collected, ask for data on those classmates still not found, and catch up on everyone’s news.

Over the years, some classes have kept in touch, and had reunions, but some have not. The new idea, for Rappahannock, is to have a Rappahannock County Alumni Association that would have all the names and addresses in one place.

The first sign of this will be October 6 at 2 p.m. at the football game.

Helen Williams, Headwaters Chair, and Mary Anne Biggs, former Headwaters chair and now working with the Next Step Program, will be there on October 6 at 2 p.m, at the Alumni Tent to offer goodies and information.
