Deputy U.S. Secretary of Education Raymond Simon and 20 other superintendents and school board members from the Seventh Congressional District for an education forum in Henrico County, Va. At the meeting, discussions were held on how to increase federal resources for schools to be successful in meeting the standards of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, and on making NCLB a more positive process for ensuring that all children learn. Chappell presented Representative Cantor a school board resolution supporting proposed changes in NCLB, and gave him a letter on behalf of the school board requesting support for more federal funds for Rappahannock County.
