Drunk in court
Thornton Lee Costello was arrested by Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office Deputy Angela Deavers at 1 p.m. on Sept. 18 for being drunk in public.
The 56-year-old Round Hill man was at the Rappahannock County Courthouse to be arraigned for a bond violation at the time of the arrest.
Bogus checks
A woman on Aileen Road received some mail last week that was too good to be true.
She received four travelers cheeks, each worth $500, that did not have a return address attached with them. The woman tried to cash one of the checks at a bank, but some bank employees told her the check was counterfeit.
Representatives from the RCSO went to her house on Sept. 18 and confiscated the remaining three checks and Maj. Chris Williams contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
