“Energy Day,” October 2nd, will kick off Virginia’s largest campaign to help Virginians decrease their heating costs this winter, according to George L. Jones, Coordinator, State Office of Emergency and Energy Services.
“We will have available this fall the most extensive block of energy and money saving programs ever attempted in Virginia. Equally important, the programs primarily will emphasize low cost improvements likely to provide significant returns on investments within a year." Jones said.
By dialing a toll-free Energy Hot Line - 1 -800-5523831 - citizens throughout the State can request any of the energy programs.
A free computer analysis of energy use in the home and a free packet of “do-ityourself' instructions that take a step-by-step approach to caulking, weatherstripping and insulating will be made available to interested homeowners upon request.
Home Energy Cost-Cutting Ginics. which were presented to some 20,000 persons last fall, will again be presented free to groups of 50 or more persons anyplace in the State.
And. an Energy Information and Services Center will be available which citizens can call toll free to obtain answers to hundreds of specific energy questions.
