Settle

Garence Ashby Settle, 57, of Rixeyville died Friday, September 22, 1978, at the Veterans Administration facility in Martinsburg, W. Va.. after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Lukes Lutheran Oiurch with the Rev. James D. Riley and the Rev. Elmer Ganskopp officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Jeffersonton.

A native of Rappahannock County, Mr. Settle was the son of the late Susie Settle and Brue Settle. He lived in Culpeper County for many years where he was a carpenter.

Surviving are his father; his wife, Mrs. Lula M. Settle of Rixeyville; two daughters, Lydia Ann Settle of Rixeyville and Mrs. Ruth Partlow of Culpeper; five brothers, Cleveland Settle of Springfield, John B. Settle of Culpeper, James M. Settle of Manassas, William A. Settle of Rixeyville and Gene C. Settle of Castleton; and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy fiutke and Mrs. Gladys Smoot, both of Culpeper.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that contributions be made to St. Lukes Lutheran Church.
