perishable commodities (such as peaches) in order to negotiate sales, and so on.
In Rappahannock such an augmentation of cold storage facilities is simple. They already exist and have been successfully operated for years past. I refer to the cold storage of the now defunct Rediviva Corporation, which was taken over by the Culpeper Farmers Co-Op.
I have reason to believe this cold storage could be reactivated at very small cost, could be managed for the Culpeper Co-op by the experienced Rappahannock Cold Storage Co-Op, and could do much good in improving the bargaining position of Rappahannock fruit growers (and others) in almost any market they choose to engage in.
By this means the Culpeper Farmers Co-Op could meaningfully enhance the already invaluable services they furnish this community.
