Effective October 1, 1978, the daily entrance fee to Shenandoah National Park will be raised to $3.00 per vehicle. This will replace the present $2.00 fee, which has been in effect since July 1970. “This increase,” explained Park Superintendent Robert R. Jacobsen, “is due to the implementation of nationwide standards for fee collection in National Park Service areas. The types of services and facilities available to Park visitors were considered in determining the new rates.” Revenues generated from entrance fees are deposited in the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, and are available to Federal, State and Local agencies for
