pahannock Council was opposed to a yield in utility income beyond seven percent; opposed to the $200,000 annual salaries that Vepco pays to at least two corporate officials and opposed to paying for Vepco’s public relations projects and other non-operating expenses.
VPI Extension Agents Rap Owings and Nancy Secrist attended the September Council meeting to discuss proposals for a Washington farmers’ market. The Senior Citizens Council will sponsor a community meeting to be held Thursday. November 2, at the Washington Baptist Church on plans for a market that will open in 1979. The Council invites farmers, consumers and anyone else interested to attend.
Also at the September meeting, the Council elected Truman Keesey as president. Pearl B. Clarke as vicepresident. Anne Keyser as recording secretary, Lillian Crews as corresponding secretary and Ethel Bailey as treasurer.
