Sports CorrrwpondriH Last Wednesday, the Luray Bulldogs defeated Rappahannock’s Panthers by a score of 8-3. According to coach Glen Davis, "we just got outplayed. They had a good pitcher and we couldn't hit him." Eric Bear did manage to get one big one, however, scamming a solo homerun over the left field fence. Rapp’s Mike Brown went the distance for the Panthers on the mound." Mike did a better job than the score indicated." Davis added.
Rapp Wins On Thursday Rappahannock beat Strasburg for the second time this season, 4-1. Lee Anderson pitched a 4 hitter in seven innings to pick up his second win of the year. Pops Aylor upped his batting average by getting 2 hits in 2 at bats, a double and triple.
Eric Bear continued his hot bat by hitting a long triple to left-center field.
Although the team had a good offensive game, Coach Davis credited the win to "tightly played defense.”
Pops Aylor is now leading the district in hitting, batting 500, and is leading the team in stolen bases with 16.
One of the best accomplishments is making long story short.
