Having read the numerous articles in your paper regarding the recent injustices accorded Mr. Wingfield, 1 felt impelled to write this letter echoing all those who have voiced their support of him.

Mr. Wingfield came to RCHS at a very difficult time. He was hired to replace a county institution, Mr. H. B. Winfrey, who had been loved and respected as principal for many years. Mr. Wingfield’s job was not an easy one, and 1 recall that he was not extremely popular with students or teachers the first year or so. However, he made a lot of changes for the good of the school and gained the respect of many people. 1 was among them.

Although I have been rather vocal most of my life, I was always shy about taking charge and asserting myself. Mr Wingfield constantlyencouraged me. 1 knew that if I ever had a question or a problem that I could count on him. Over the years 1 have really grown to admire him for always expecting people
