Last Friday in General District Court, Judge John Alexander dismissed all charges against John Ronald Jenkins who had been charged with petty larceny and assault and battery. Irvin Jenkins was convicted of trespassing, but the other charges of petty larceny and assault and battery were dismissed.
Wayne Atkins, the first to testify, stated that on the morning of July 4, he pulled up in front of the Sperryville Corner Store. At that time Atkins said that he spoke to John Jenkins who asked Atkins if he were going to Culpeper. Atkins replied that he was not and told Jenkins that he was going home. While there, Atkins, John Jenkins and Irvin Jenkins all had a drink of liquor, after which Atkins testified that he left. He stated he was going home to get his gun because he was "going to go hunt rabbits."
Atkins said when he passed the Corner Store on the way to hunt he heard Frank Pullen holler at him so he stopped and pulled into the rear parking lot. At this point Atkins said that. John Jenkins asked him if he had a gun so Atkins held it up for
