In an interview after the hearing. Cranwell told reporters that the subcommittee will likely back a restatement of the eight purposes of zoning. But he indicated he would go no further than that.
“At this point, the legislature probably doesn’t need to be telling the Supreme Court how to conduct its business,” Cranwell said.
Cranwell added that he could not predict whether such a bill would carry in the legislature next year. “I've been in the General Assembly for 12 years and I've learned not to predict w hat will fly," he said.
