The Virginia Waste Exchange has begun soliciting listings for its first catalog, to be available in August. The Waste Exchange, a service of the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce, will act as an information service through which potential buyers and sellers of waste products may locate one another.

Any Virginia company whose process results in waste material with a potential resale value can take a listing in the catalog. A manufacturer seeking such materials could also buy a listing. Such materials as metal and wood shavings, used oil or solvents, even waste packaging materials could be offered for sale or sought by the companies subscribing to the service. One company’s used wooden loading pallets, for example.
