An Amissville woman alleged to have taken her 15year-old son from Fauquier County Hospital led officials from both Fauquier and Stafford counties and state police on a high-speed chase in both counties for over an hour until she was finally apprehended in Stafford County, 11:15 a.m., July 12.
Gloria Jane Sisk. 38, accompanied by her son who had been in the hospital with a serious blood disease and another son, eight years old, headed east with the two children on U. S. 17 about two miles west of Interstate 95. Stafford authorities had been notified to look out for Sisk's car and they pursued her to a point near the Holiday Inn North, according to Stafford County Sheriff Richard L. Ashby.
At that point Sisk made a U-tum and headed back west into Fauquier County past Morrisvitle but encountered a road block Set up by Fauquier County police. Sisk turned again and was chased by the Stafford and Fauquier
