Funding for the establishment of the Virginia Waste Exchange has been provided by a grant from the Virginia Environmental Endowment. Other assistance is being provided by the Virginia Solid Waste Commission. Recycling of scrap materials is a goal consistent with the purposes of the two organizations, as well as with the interests of the businesses which belong to the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce. The Waste Exchange will not participate in transactions, nor will it certify the quality or quantity of materials being offered in the catalog. Buyers and sellers will find each other through the service, at which point the Exchange's job is finished.
