Federal price support programs that aid millions of Americans each year are harmful and even disastrous to many others and are extremely wasteful, says Lindsay G. Dorrier, Democratic contender for the Seventh District Congressional seat, who wants to see them scrutinized much more carefully.
But the 39-year-old Albemarle County commonwealth’s attorney who is intent on unseating six-term incumbent J. Kenneth Robinson does not want to force undue hardship on farmers and others who now benefit from subsidy programs.
