Alternative Futures for Farming in the Shenandoah Valley, a community forum sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winchester, will be held November 6 at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown.
In examining how to assure that farmers in the future can afford to stay on their farms, leading authorities will address such issues as disappearing profits, inefficient marketing, effects of changing eating habits and barriers to new farmers entering into business. Alternative farming methods, products and related practices will be proposed by program speakers and discussed with the audience in workshop sessions.
