The Bat
Rappahannock County High School presents “The Bat”, a mystery drama based on Mary Roberts Rinehart’s mystery, The Circular Staircase. The curtain rises on November 5 to find Miss Cornelia Van Gorder, played by Ginger Eidson, and Lizzie, played by Kristie Johnson, in the living room of the home Miss Cornelia has rented from a New York Banker who has been reported dead in Colorado some months before. Amid a threatening storm, conversation between Miss Cornelia and Lizzie indicates mysterious things are happening in the rented home and Lizzie is convinced the house is haunted!!
About this time, it is discovered that a large sum of money is missing from the dead banker’s bank. Immediately, the suspicion is aroused that, far from being dead, he has stolen the money, hidden it in a secret chamber in his house, and is awaiting a good chance to sneak back and get it. What evolves is a mystery full of false leads and surprising events!
In addition to Miss Eidson and Miss Johnson, other RCHS actors and actresses include Shannon Streagle, Tom Eastham, Susan Dennis, Todd Robinson, Bob Baines, Charles Johnson, Steve Scott, and Jim McCullough.
