He could still see eyes staring at him from the bushes.

He began to walk faster and faster. As he reached the old graveyard, he tripped over something big and white lying in the path. As he fell he heard the thing moan and groan. The thing did not move. My grandfather’s heart was beating very fast and he felt as though he was choking. By this time, the moon had disappeared and it was pitch dark again so he' couldn’t see what had made the moaning and groaning sounds.

He was so (tightened he jumped up and ran home as fast as he could. He was out of breath when he reached home. He couldn’t sleep all that night. The next morning he went back to the graveyard to find out just what had scared him the night before. He walked very slowly and very carefully along the path. Then he saw what had made him fall. There lying in the path was an old. white, dead horse.
