I hroughout this election campaign, voter attention has been focused primarily on economic issues. A far more serious threat to the well-being of America’s people lies in the continuing degredation of our air, water and land.
Lindsay Dorrier’s position on environmental questions has demonstrated his belief that sacrificing our environment and natural resources is not the path to follow to a strong economy.
The Democratic candidate for the Tth District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives would vote to halt the Reagan administration’s movement to reduce regulation and weaken environmental protection measures. Dorrier supports the maintenance and enforcement of existing legislation with penalties levied on a regular basis for non-compliance to prove to polluters that the government means business. He endorses a partnership between federal, state and local governments to handle environmental problems with state and local governments given maximum discretion to preserve land, water and air quality through zoning laws.
