The Amissville area was typical of the county as a whole. Only 35 percent of the persons actually called were both registered voters and willing to cooperate in the poll. A staggering 40 percent replied that they weren’t registered and 21 percent insisted that their political preferences weren’t anyone else’s business.
In the final pre-election poll conducted by the Rappahanock News, respondents equaled over two percent of the county’s registered voters.
