Vi cup butter

Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise about 2 hours or until almost doubled in bulk. Punch down, divide and place in 2 greased tube pans or in 3 greased 1-lb. coffee cans. Let rise 'A hour. Brush the tops with melted butter.

If you have any fall onions coming up in your garden, use them for Pecan-Green Onion Rice. Brown about a cup of green onions and onion tops in butter - more if you really want a pronounced onion taste. Add 2 cups chopped pecans and brown, adding more butter if necessary. It’s possible to use oil for browning, but certainly not the same. Add 1 cup brown rice, stirring briefly, add 2 cups chicken broth or 1 cup chicken broth and 1 cup water, simmering until done.
