Jim McCullough, tne detective called by Miss Van Gorder, spent most of his time tied and gagged off stage, his place taken by the nefarious bat. But when the bruised and confused young man staggered into the spotlight, nursing his aching head, he left the audience without any doubts that he was suffering from amnesia.
Tod Robinson hit just the right note of simpering pomposity with his portrayal of the sneaky doctor in cahoots with the bank robber.
Charles Johnson, the grasping nephew of the dead bank president, was himself sent too the great beyond in Act II. His demise brought no tears from the audience how had been convinced by Charles that his character, was a callous and unfeeling scoundrel.
In addition to the cast, credit goes to the lighting and sound crew for creating a realistic thunderstorm and to the set designers who produced an illusion of a grand estate from just one living room.
