The capital outlay presentation made by School Superintendent Robert Estabrook at last Tuesday’s school board meeting is the latest effort by the Rappahannock school administration to deal with cramped conditions at the high school. Estabrook's presentation centers around construction of a new gym.

This latest proposal for capital outlay is expected to cause controversy, just as previous proposals have. The presentation came at a specially-scheduled meeting, a fact criticized by Wakefield member Robert Eastham, who left the meeting in the middle of the proposal. Estabrook introduced his presentation by saying that he was aware that money is not plentiful now and that his plan represents a scaleddown version rearranging existing space as well as constructing the new gym.
